memorial day weekend roadtrip

FIRST STOP: Double Tree Resort,

Lancaster, PA, with its lovely pool

and fabulous indoor water playground

NEXT STOP: DC suburbs to film

Rachel & the Treeschoolers

with Signing Time star/co-creator

(the kids were costumed adorably,

but our phones had died by then,

so, sadly, no pictures)

 

NEXT STOP:

after filming was done,

we drove across another five states

(having already been in PA and VA)

to reach Nana in Queens, NY

(the photo below is small, 

but check out the beautiful view

from the front of Nana's building!!!)

THE NEXT DAY: we took the boys

to the Hall of Science,

which i had fond memories of

from when i was a kid

AFTER THAT: we headed

back to Nana's for the night

THE NEXT DAY: Nana had 

lots of company,

including aunts, uncles, 

cousins and more cousins

we swam, ate, played ball

and were generally goofy together

FINALLY: we drove home,

crossing the George Washington Bridge,

which Rick had just put into

a set he'd literally just finished building

("In the Heights" at RAPA)

stopping for lunch in Syracuse

at a really fun, kid-friendly restaurant

that shares its name with

someone we'd seen earlier in our trip -
can you tell who???

(NB, the small entrance and

phone box are for the leprechauns!)

another great roadtrip
now firmly under our belt!
