kids mostly came in sibling pairs,
each of which was assigned a color
for game play
don't the boys look splendid
in their FGN shirts?
we had 5 FGN-inspired games
set up in our basement:
(1) twister
(2) connect 4 "basketball"
(3) boggle
(4) bop-it!
(we amended our "boptagon" to
include musical instruments,
ala "strum it," "crash it," "shake it," etc.)
and rick's piece de resistance,
(5) "sam dunk" operation skee ball!
(there was a bell to ring, a light-up nose,
a ball return and everything!!)
the community chest
was mostly just there for decoration
after pizza and games,
the boys ate their monopoly-themed brownies
which were personalized with
each team's color and each boy's name
(yes, the "game pieces," eg,
thimble, dog, iron, top hat, etc.,
were edible - gum paste sprayed silver)
toby opened his presents,
and boy, do his friends know him!
(we're so grateful for all the great games
and lego sets.)
one family even brought
a lego set for simon
(which toby wasted no time
helping him build)
