family day at the amerks game

reduced admission to hockey game today

with donation of a teddy bear

patrons threw the bears onto the ice

after the amerks scored their first (and, it turned out, only) goal

multiple mascots made appearances,

ostensibly to help the amerks moose

celebrate his "birthday"

(moose didn't pose for pictures, though)

recognizable mascots included 

the rhino (above) and the redwings bird (below)

there were other, less recognizable, mascots,

including this foodlink canned food item

we're still not sure who this fella is

we were particularly bowled over by this guy

(actually, i suppose he'd have had to have been

a bowling ball, not pin, for that joke to work)

we *think* this armadillo

is the mascot from a new BBQ joint in town

obviously, the kids like posing with "friends,"

particularly ones they'd met before

(including simon's favorite, spidey)

the kids had other friends at the game,

including toby's school friend colden 

and his little brother jackson

 the amerks lost 1-4 to the hershey bears,

but a good time was had by all

(except, perhaps, by the amerks!)
