the christmas season was launched
by the kids' participation in kazoo fest,
a fundraiser for camp good days

our artificial tree,
long a staple in our house,
moved from our family room
to our dining room for all to see
never one for convention,
rick baked sugar cookie (instead of ginger bread)
walls and a roof to build
a tasty house with the boys
the boys made extra sugar cookies
to set aside for santa with some milk...
...and some letters!
on christmas eve,
we took the kids in their PJs
to see a house we'd read about online
that goes all out with christmas decorations
(NOT our house!)
christmas morning, the kids discovered
santa had really delivered -
metaphorically AND literally -
depositing gifts in stockings as well as
beneath the tree we had chopped down
(our first real tree!)
legos were a big winner this year
christmas morning, rick made
M&M pancakes
note the crashed escape pod...

enviously eyeing toby's special breakfast
even the pets (including sunny, unpictured)
got presents
avi may not have been thrilled to wear his bow,
but he nonetheless indulged us long enough
for pictures
it was a very nice christmas
