gee, what should we do with this dirt mound that used to be toby’s play area? how about a veggie garden? first, we’ll need to rake the dirt to smooth it out. simon: let me help you, toby!
next we’ll need to dig holes and sink some plants in. toby: dad, i think this one should go next.
toby: dad, i’m not to big on getting dirty. how about you dig and i’ll hand you the plants? and let’s plant some from seed – what do we think of sunflowers? simon: oh, i can help plant those!
toby: oops, i spilled the corn! okay, corntastrophe averted, it’s now time to water.
toby: watering isn’t just for the garden, is it?
apparently, simon doesn’t think so, as he watered the photographer instead!
this is our garden so far. lots of veggies (tomatoes, beans, peas, beats and more), herbs (basil) and fruit (strawberries) – some from plants and many from seed. next: chicken wire to keep the dogs out!
