italy in riverside

last night was our italy-themed halloween party.

mom and dad did up the dining room in the predictable green, white and red.
(notice mom's take on michelangelo's "david" in the background.)

dad made lots of yummy food, including antipasti, pizza, biscotti, cannolis and these sugar cookies (which he made by bending a christmas stocking cookie cutter woefully out of shape).

dad and mom dressed as a roman god and goddess. i dressed as julius caesar (though i refused to wear half my costume).

this shot shows the fabulous mount vesuvius dad built for the pompeii room.
it had sound and lights and even smoke. it was rockin'!
guests couldn't believe he'd done it from scratch without a blueprint.
he's just creative that way.
